Scranton Plumbing Services

Reliable plumbing services in the Scranton area.

Most plumbers make promises and fail to keep them. They may say they’ve got the best prices, yet nickel and dime you. Or they may say that they are licensed and insured, but when something happens to their work, they disappear. Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air would never do that to you or your family because it is simply wrong. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and the ability to always be service-minded

Is Your Toilet Behind the Reason for the Clog?

Low-flow toilets were introduced around 1994 to help conserve water. They became popular because of their ability to flush away waste while using far less water which helped to save homeowners money. As things go, the first models of these toilets had few kinks; the first ones installed worked decently for a period of time but are now getting older and need to be replaced. The fact that they use less water and have less force behind their flush means that waste is not being pushed far enough into pipes. This can cause significant clogging problems, and may even be the sole cause of your recurring toilet blockages.

The good news is that new high-efficiency toilets are on the market. These toilets are similarly efficient but have a few options to choose from. Opting to install a newer model toilet in your home may have some upfront costs, but the savings over time will be well worth it!

Preventing Burst Pipes

Hopefully, you have a routine that you follow in order to lessen the chance of burst pipes during cold winters. If you don’t, there are a few ways to help prevent this problem:

  • Leave cabinets open allowing warm air to circulate around the pipes
  • Keep a drip or small steady stream of cold water flowing
  • Add insulation to basements and crawl spaces

If you are still concerned about freezing pipes this winter, call Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air to help winterize your home. If you opt to not winterize your home, be on the lookout for signs of a burst pipe. Some of these signs can include water marks on the wall, puddles of water on the floor, and strange sounds when turning the water on and off. If you are experiencing these issues, it is best to call a professional immediately to assess the damage and repair any burst or leaking pipes.

Call Pat to Handle That!

Even if you take every precaution against freezing pipes, there is always a small chance that something could go wrong. If something does go wrong, it is imperative that you call a plumber that can solve your problem quickly. While there are a number of plumbers that can probably do this, the majority of them charge extremely high rates and no matter how much you prepare yourself for the bill, it’s still a shock. Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air will always answer the phone and send a plumber directly to you. The difference is in the fact we use upfront pricing, so you know what to expect financially.
