COVID-19

From the Owner.

We are in unprecedented times here in the United States, and at Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning we are continuing to serve the needs of our customers and team while doing our best to protect our community. Having been serving Topeka and the surrounding area for 18 years, safety is always our first and foremost concern.

Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning provides a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our community. Therefore, we will remain open during this time of social distancing. We understand you need working plumbing, heating, air conditioning, sewers and drain systems in your home, and we are here and prepared to help you during this time.

I want to share our plan to address concerns and answer questions that you may be asking. Below is our process moving forward until further notice…

If you need service, please call our main line at (785) 783-5780. Alternatively, we will be responding to text messages at (785) 409-9930 during the hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. After these hours, please call the main office. We have local staff handling the phones from 7 am to 5 pm most days and an afterhours answering service, so you are always speaking with someone who can help take care of your needs. Please keep in mind, as many of our office staff are working from home, they may return your calls from a number you may not recognize.

Contact us via email at service@callpat.com or through our website.

Our company has taken a multitude of steps to be as safe as possible as well as to keep your home and family safe.

Some Things We Are Doing

When you call our office, staff will be asking a few questions to understand if you or anyone in the home have been sick in the last 48 hours, or whether you have traveled outside of Topeka in the last two weeks. We will be following cleaning protocols recommended by CDC and state agencies, and any of our team members who have fever, are showing signs of sickness, or who have been known to be exposed and not protected will be asked to remain at home. We will be taking measures to maintain a safe work environment by wearing gloves and shoe covers, will clean our work areas, and prior to your service, all our tools and vehicles will be disinfected as to not carry anything into your home.

Service Call Precautions

We are open and running service calls to homes. We want to be there in case of emergencies and make sure we keep our customers safe and comfortable at home. We also need to take caution to protect our team members and make sure they stay healthy as well.

In many cases, we will be able to troubleshoot equipment from outside, in a crawl space, or in attics and basements with minimal face to face contact. Our team will be following protocols to maintain a safe work environment by wearing gloves and shoe covers and disinfecting work areas in the home and in our trucks.

Maintenance Calls

We will be running plumbing, heating, air conditioning, indoor air quality, sewer, drain and water softening repair and preventative maintenance appointments during this time. If you have scheduled with us already, we still plan to come. We will call before we arrive and go over any precautions we may need to discuss. As mentioned above, we can often work on equipment with minimal contact. Some of this maintenance may be deferred for a short time, but not waiting on an issue to become worse is always recommended so it doesn’t become a larger expense. This also prevents a backlog of service, causing longer wait times during the peak season.

Obtaining Signatures for Work

Our normal process is for repair work to be pre and post approved via signature. In order to reduce contact, we will be suspending this requirement at this time so you will not be asked to sign a tablet by our team.

Payment

During this time, we ask that payments be made via electronic means such as debit card, credit card, or 3rd party financing.

Team Awareness

Some of our team members may be working remotely from home and, therefore, our internal communication may not be as smooth as we would like. Please be patient with our team so we can take the best care of you and all our customers.

We have cancelled all group meetings until further notice and are meeting remotely via Zoom, Facetime and Go-to-Meeting.

Technicians already work in isolation for most of the day and are not exposed to large groups during work. In addition, our office staff is now working remotely so there is minimal face to face interaction between our office team members and field team members.

Updates from Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning

We plan to do this as long as it is necessary and will make changes in accordance with the State, City or CDC recommendations.

We greatly appreciate our customers and team members here at Pat Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, and understand the value of trying to reduce the spread of this virus to keep our healthcare system from being overwhelmed. We are confident we will be able to handle this predicament as quickly as possible and return to normality. Thank you for your support.

Respectfully,

Patrick Grogan, Owner
